As the temperate is set to soar over the next few days it is so important that you keep your baby safe in the heat in Plymouth. Below I am going to share a few of my top tips to keep your baby or child safe while out and about!
Keep your baby hydrated
When I have a baby in the Plymouth studio I keep the studio HOT. I always advise parents ahead of the session that they will need to keep their baby well fed. In the summer heat children and babies will act in the same way. ALWAYS ensure that your baby has drunk plenty of fluids. Babies can get dehydrated so quickly in the heat in Plymouth it is so important to make sure that they have plenty of milk.
Keep your baby out of the Plymouth sun
The sun is beautiful this time of year! BUT it has dangerous UV rays which can penetrate the skin and cause irreparable damage to the skin of your baby. The best way to keep your baby safe in Plymouth from these dangerous UV rays is to keep your baby out of the sun where possible. If your baby does get burnt by the sun seek medical attention immediately.
Dress your baby in one layer
Your new baby is developing new things every day. This includes sweat glands. Babies have a lower capacity to sweat than adults so limiting their clothing to one layer (or just a nappy inside) can help keep them nice and cool and avoid heat stroke. Being a baby photographer this is my top tip ahead of a session in my warm studio.
Dress your baby in light coloured clothes
Dark clothes are known to absorb the heat. When the weather is hot it is always best (for adults and children) to wear lighter clothing if you want to stay cool.
To keep your baby safe in the heat in Plymouth I advise your baby wear light weight and light coloured clothes.
