A day in the life of a Plymouth baby photographer

I have the best job in the world as a Plymouth baby photographer! I get to spend time cuddling precious new babies! Who wouldn’t love that? But there is also so much more to my job that happens behind the scenes in my Plymouth studio.

How to find a Plymouth baby photographer

How did you find me? Maybe you were recommended to me via a friend? Or maybe you found me on Facebook? Or maybe you googled Plymouth baby photographer? Did you know I spend 90% of my time doing marketing to make sure that you can find me?

Before your baby studio session

On the day of your session I clean the studio, prepare my prop set ups, turn up the heating and pop some water in the fridge for you. While I am waiting for you to arrive I am busy answering emails and catching up on my editing.

During your newborn shoot

This is my favourite part of my job. I get to spend time with your family capturing precious memories for you. Sessions typically last between 2-4 hours. Most of this time is spend feeding your baby, changing nappies and settling them down into a deep sleep. Have a little peek at my blog on what happen after you have booked your session for more details!

I keep the studio nice and warm so I suggest wearing layers. I can be found in a short sleeved t-shirt at all times of the year on studio days!

After the studio session

Before I do anything I set your newborn photos to start backing up. They are so precious so I want to make sure they are safe before doing anything. I then clean the studio and wash any blankets that have been used.

I then spend hours working through your photos and editing them. I want you to love your baby pictures which is why I dedicate so much time getting them to look perfect.

I spend the rest of my day finishing off any emails and marketing which I need to do. You may notice that I reply to my emails late into the evening. This is because I have 2 gorgeous little girls living at home who I also juggle caring for alongside work. To learn more about my family have a little look at our most recent family lifestyle photos.
