It is Plastic Free July in Plymouth so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share how we are cutting down our plastic usage here in the studio!
What is Plastic Free July in Plymouth?
Plastic free July is a movement across the UK and world where together we are working to cut down our waste. This is to help achieve a cleaner and more sustainable planet. And who doesn’t want to see a super clean beach? Or a tidy park for our children?
Does this mean I shouldn’t ever use plastic?
No! Of course you can still use plastic. This movement is all about refusing to use single use plastics within our communities. In Plymouth if we can start reusing our plastics rather than throwing them away then our Ocean City will be a much cleaner one!
How is the studio having a Plastic Free July in Plymouth?
Here in the studio we are all about recycling. Here are a few ways that I ensure that we are supporting Plastic Free July in Plymouth studio:
- When your studio newborn photos are packaged up you will notice that I reuse the original plastic and cardboard that I get straight from my supplier. This means that not only can I keep my packaging costs down for my customers but it means that I am helping save the planet at the same time! So sometimes this means they look a little scruffy on the outside but it means that they have been packaged up in the best way to protect your photo products!
- I reuse my water bottle while I am at work. When you come for your newborn studio photo shoot I always provide water. Whilst the water that I provide you is in a new sealed water bottle you will notice that always have a reusable one. I will also encourage you to take your water with you so that you can reuse them too. This means that the wastage at the end of the baby studio session is minimal.
- Did you know that wet wipes contain plastic? This means that they don’t ever fully biodegrade. Here in the Plymouth studio I have bio degradable wet wipes should you require them for your baby or toddler.
